European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen plans to visit Greenland in March and announce a support package for the autonomous territory of Denmark, Bloomberg reported, citing informed sources.
According to them, the exact date of the trip has not yet been determined.
On January 20, von der Leyen, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said that the EU is working on a “comprehensive investment package“ for Greenland.
Later, speaking at a session of the European Parliament, she noted that the community intends to “protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Denmark and Greenland“.
