The Israel Airports Authority said that American journalist Tucker Carlson was neither detained nor questioned at Ben Gurion Airport upon departing Israel.

„Tucker Carlson and his companions were not detained or questioned. "There were no unusual incidents and the Airport Authority categorically denies any other allegations on this matter," the agency's press service said in a statement.

According to the Israel Airport Authority, "Carlson and his companions were politely asked a few standard questions in accordance with established procedures that are applied to many passengers from time to time."

"The conversation took place in a separate room in the VIP lounge, solely to preserve their privacy and prevent it from being conducted in front of other passengers," the administration noted.

Carlson previously told the British newspaper Daily Mail that he was questioned upon leaving Israel, where he was on February 18 to record an interview with US Ambassador Mike Huckabee.
