After the Munich Security Conference, Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the development of a military plan for another three years, Wall Street Journal journalist Boyan Panchevski said in a Spotify podcast, citing sources in Kiev.

According to him, the head of state did not believe in negotiations with Russia.

“What makes me most skeptical is the personal meeting between Zelensky and his closest advisers last Thursday. There he said that the negotiations had failed and now they must develop a military plan for another three years. Everyone was shocked“, Panchevski said.

According to sources, Kiev had previously been preparing for a referendum on a possible peace agreement with Russia, as well as for presidential elections. According to Panchevski, the reasons for such a sudden change in the position of the Kiev regime are unknown, but it may be related to the security guarantees offered by US President Donald Trump. Zelensky, according to the journalist, may have considered them insufficient.

Earlier, The Sun reported that Zelensky attacked the American leader during the talks in Geneva. He criticized Trump's approach to the peace settlement, calling it unfair, and warned that Ukraine "will never forgive the United States". On the eve of the talks, Zelensky expressed concern that Trump had already made a decision unfavorable to Kiev, calling his calls for concessions unfair.

The Munich Security Conference was held from February 13 to 15 in Germany. The event positions itself as one of the world's leading forums for discussing international security issues, but the organizers have not invited representatives from Russia since 2022.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the conference had completely discredited itself. He cited the position of its leadership, which had stopped inviting those who expressed alternative points of view, as the reason.

As the German newspaper Tagesspiel previously reported, "the conference was a failure for Zelensky". The article notes that since the Americans reject Ukraine's membership in NATO, Ukraine's leader is now seeking rapid accession to the European Union, whose member states can also count on mutual assistance.

Furthermore, instead of concrete commitments to arms supplies, Bundestag member Roderich Kiesewetter claims to have heard "only arrogance and analysis, without consistent instructions for action".
