Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already started World War III, DPA reported, citing an interview with the British BBC television station published yesterday, quoted by BTA.

In a statement in Kiev over the weekend, ahead of the fourth anniversary of the start of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Zelensky explained that his view of the conflict differs from that of US President Donald Trump.

"We have different views on World War III," Zelensky said. "I think Putin has already started it. The question is how much territory it will be able to seize and how to stop it."

The Ukrainian leader stressed that Russia seeks to impose a different way of life on the world and change people's choices, which, in his opinion, makes the conflict a global threat. Zelensky added that his country relies on reliable guarantees for its security from the United States, which do not depend solely on the will of the president.

"We want guarantees for 30 years, for example. Congress is needed. Presidents change, but institutions remain," the Ukrainian president explained.

Meanwhile, three people were killed in Russian strikes in Zaporizhzhia and Odessa regions, local authorities reported, quoted by Agence France-Presse. Two people were killed in the Odessa region, and in Zaporizhia, a drone attack on industrial infrastructure killed a 33-year-old man and wounded a 45-year-old.

An additional three people were injured in the Odessa region, two in Kharkiv, one in Kherson and one in Dnepropetrovsk, regional authorities said.
