The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, announced that she has decided to impose a limit on the number of Russian missions to EU institutions in Brussels. According to her, Russia will be able to have up to 40 representatives in the future, BTA reports.

We will not tolerate abuse of diplomatic powers, she said at a press conference after today's meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. We are working with the European Commission to impose a restriction on former Russian soldiers so that they do not enter Schengen - we do not want war criminals and saboteurs to walk our streets, she added.

Kallas announced that today the ministers failed to approve the extension of sanctions against Russia. As BTA reported, Hungary announced that it would block the decision due to the dispute with Ukraine over the operation of the "Druzhba" oil pipeline. Work is ongoing, the High Representative added regarding the proposal to impose new sanctions against the Russian side.
