Paris has banned the US ambassador to France, Charles Kushner, from meeting with members of the French government after the diplomat failed to appear at the French Foreign Ministry when summoned for comments on last week's killing of a French far-right activist, diplomatic sources reported last night, quoted by Reuters.

"Following the publication by the US embassy of comments on the tragedy that occurred in France, which affects only our domestic political life, and which we will not allow to be exploited, Ambassador Charles Kushner was summoned to the ministry today. "But he did not show up," a diplomatic source said.

French far-right activist Kanten Durank was beaten to death in a fight with suspected far-left activists. The incident shocked France, Reuters reported.

This is the second time Ambassador Kushner has refused to appear at the French Foreign Ministry. In August last year, he was summoned after publicly expressing concern about the rise in anti-Semitism in France and criticizing French authorities for not doing enough to prevent it.
