The US has evidence that Iran is trying to restore its nuclear program after the strikes carried out by the White House against Iranian nuclear facilities in June, US Vice President J.D. Vance said, quoted by "Reuters".
"The principle is very simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon", Vance said.
He spoke to reporters a day before talks in Geneva between the US and Iranian delegations.
"If they try to restore their nuclear weapons, it will cause us problems. In fact, we have evidence that they tried to do exactly that," the vice president summed up.
Vance noted that US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will attend the talks with Iran on Thursday.
He added that Donald Trump wants to deal with Iran's nuclear program "through diplomatic channels, but of course the president has other options."
