The Swedish army has jammed the signal of an unidentified drone yesterday, not far from the French aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle", which is on a visit to Malmo, reported Agence France-Presse, citing information from the headquarters of the French army and the Swedish military, reported BTA.

“A drone was jammed yesterday with a Swedish device about 7 nautical miles (approximately 13 km) from the “Charles de Gaulle“. The Swedish device worked perfectly and did not affect the ship“, said the spokesman for the headquarters of the French army, Colonel Guillaume Vernet, to AFP.

The incident took place in the Øresund Strait, near Malmö, where the French aircraft carrier arrived on February 24, the Swedish military said.

A fuel leak of unknown origin was detected in the port of Malmö, near the aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle", the Swedish coast guard said separately, quoted by AFP.

"We can confirm that there has been a fuel leak in the port of Malmö, where the "Charles de Gaulle" is anchored. Two oil tankers are also anchored in this port," the coast guard said in a statement to AFP, without providing further details about the two other ships.

The coast guard has opened a preliminary investigation into environmental damage.

"We are trying to establish "which ship is leaking and we are taking samples on site," the coast guard said.

The Charles de Gaulle is in the port of Malmö for a few days before it takes part in planned NATO exercises in the region.

According to the Swedish newspaper "Sydsvenskan", the fuel leak is currently limited.

De Re Militari reported that it was a Russian drone. A Russian drone has been maneuvering near the French nuclear-powered aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle", which is currently in the port of the Swedish city of Malmö.

Swedish state media SVT reported that the drone took off from a Russian ship in the area and was aimed at the aircraft carrier, which is in Sweden for a joint naval exercise. The Swedish armed forces reportedly intercepted the aircraft and used anti-aircraft missiles against it. It was equipped with radio jamming equipment. The drone then disappeared. It is unclear whether it returned to the Russian ship or crashed into the sea.
