Venezuela's presidential envoy Delcy Rodriguez appeals to US President Donald Trump to lift sanctions and blockade against the country.
“President Donald Trump, as friends and partners, we are opening a new program of cooperation with the United States. End the sanctions and end the blockade against our homeland, because this blockade is also aimed at Venezuelan youth“, Rodriguez said in a public meeting broadcast by the television channel Venezolana de Televisión.
Rodriguez stressed that “no one should deprive Venezuela of its independence and the right of the youth, in whose veins the blood of liberators flows“. She called for the lifting of sanctions and blockades because the US president has declared himself a “friend and partner of Venezuela“.
The interim leader said that Venezuelan youth support the legitimate president of the republic, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife Cilia Flores, who were captured during a US military operation and taken out of the country. She said that Venezuela must resolve internal divisions and restore peace through diplomacy.
