Seven people killed after explosion at cafe in Kazakhstan

Seven people died, including a 16-year-old girl, after an explosion and fire at a cafe in Shchuchinsk, Akmola region of Kazakhstan, the regional administration's press service reported.

According to the administration, another 13 people were hospitalized, and six were transferred to outpatient treatment.

The gas-air explosion at the "Plov Center" cafe, which was connected to a residential building, occurred on the evening of February 26.

The regional emergency department initially reported six deaths and approximately 20 injuries, with another 10 people rescued by emergency services that responded to the scene.

According to footage from the scene published by Kazakh media, the explosion occurred while customers were inside the cafe.
