The United States and Israel targeted Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the country's President Massoud Pezeshkian in joint attacks today, but the outcome of the strikes was unclear, Reuters reported, citing an Israeli official. He did not provide details, BTA reports.

Earlier today, Iranian agencies reported that Khamenei, who was taken to a safe place, and President Pezeshkian were safe.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as Iraq, that he would use all of his defense and military capabilities in accordance with the legitimate right of self-defense. Araghchi made the statement via his Telegram channel.

He called on his regional counterparts to prevent the "abuse of their territory" by the US and Israel for “carrying out aggressive operations against Iran“.

Several Gulf Arab states said they were targeted by Iranian missile strikes today after Tehran vowed to retaliate against US and Israeli strikes, sparking conflict in a part of the Arab world that prides itself on its relative security.
