The Russian energy corporation „Rosatom“ has evacuated nearly 100 people from Iran, but its employees remain at the Iranian Bushehr nuclear power plant. This was announced today by the Russian state company, citing a statement by its CEO Alexei Likhachev, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

The United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran today. In response, the Iranian army announced that it had carried out attacks today on four US military bases in the Middle East - in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE.

„Rosatom“ announced that it had evacuated the children of all its employees in Bushehr. Employees who are not needed to maintain critical operations were also evacuated, as well as anyone who wanted to leave Iran - 94 people in total.

“We are constantly monitoring the situation and assessing the risks. If necessary, additional measures will be taken in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry to ensure the safety of our employees,“ Likhachev said.

He did not provide further details about the situation in Bushehr, but said nuclear facilities “should not be attacked under any circumstances“.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation on Monday with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry. ministry.

Lavrov condemned the "unprovoked armed attack" by the US and Israel against Iran and called for an immediate cessation of the strikes.

Russia is ready to assist, including in its capacity as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, in seeking a peaceful resolution to the situation around Iran, the Foreign Ministry in Moscow announced in its statement, quoted by TASS.

In his conversation with Lavrov, Araghchi was informed of Tehran's intention to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council due to the aggression by the US and Israel, the information added.
