The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will burn any ship that tries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, said Ebrahim Jabari, an advisor to the Corps commander, reported the Iranian news agency ISNA.

„We will burn any ship that tries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. We will not allow a single drop of oil to leave this region,” he said.

He added that Iran was ready, if necessary, to strike all pipelines in the Middle East and block oil exports from the region.

A day earlier, Iran reported the destruction of three tankers belonging to the United States and the United Kingdom in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Tensions in the Middle East have once again become a major driver of global commodity markets. The risk of a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has caused a sharp jump in oil prices: the price of Brent crude oil rose by 7-13% in one day, reaching a 14-month peak. At the same time, the ruble has come under double pressure: oil prices have pushed it up, while global risk factors and the strengthening of the dollar as a safe haven have pushed it down.

US missile stocks, including Tomahawk cruise missiles, are declining amid military escalation in the Middle East, CNN reported, citing a senior US official.

According to him, the most worrying factor is the reduction in the number of Tomahawk missiles, designed to strike ground targets, as well as SM-3 interceptors used against ballistic missiles.
