Components of a German company have been found in the Russian drones attacking Ukraine, writes Deutsche Welle (DW). An analysis of the "Geran-5" machines (an analogue of the Iranian "Shahed") found transistors from the company Infineon Technologies, "Focus" specified.

Other electronic components manufactured by Western companies have also been found in the drones. According to Ukrainian intelligence, most of the elements are manufactured in the USA and China, but a list of the parts found includes 137 components manufactured in Germany. At least half of them are used in the attack drones, writes DW.

The rest were found in missiles, radar equipment, transport vehicles and helicopters. Transistors are the most commonly used element, with over 50 of them. Pumps, capacitors, transformers and batteries are also common.

Most of the components come from Infineon Technologies, others are manufactured by TDK Electronics, Würth Elektronik, Bosch and Pierburg, a subsidiary of the giant Rheinmetall Group. Between 8 and 12 transistors are used in the control boards of the "Geran" drones, Ukrainian intelligence reports. They are widely available and are also sold for household electronics, so they are easy to buy and import into Russia.

According to the GUR, Russia is trying to reduce its dependence on Western equipment and currently about 60% of electronic components come from China, DW adds.
