Iran is firing fewer missiles than at the beginning of the war on Saturday, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kaine, was quoted by "Reuters".

He pointed out that Iran's military capabilities have been significantly reduced, and the United States is expanding its strikes in the country.

"We will now begin to expand our activities inside the country, striking deeper into Iranian territory and creating additional freedom of maneuver for American forces," said Kaine.

"The ballistic missile launches launched by Iran in the theater of operations are "They've dropped 86 percent since the first day of the operation, down 23 percent in the last 24 hours alone. Their one-way drone strikes have dropped 73 percent since the first few days," he said during a joint press conference with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The U.S. general noted that "it will take some time" to assess the total damage, but said Iran had been "indiscriminate" and "imprecise" in its attacks.

He acknowledged that the risk was still high, calling the operation "dangerous" and "far from over", but added that US allies "are answering the call to defend themselves".

Kane said the US had sunk more than 20 Iranian warships since the start of the operation in Iran, including one submarine, the BBC reported.

Earlier at the same press conference, Hegseth had declared that the United States was winning its war against Iran and confirmed that it had sunk an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka.
