We do not see migration movements leaving Iran, rather there are people leaving Tehran, EU Home Affairs Commissioner Magnus Brunner told journalists today before the start of the EU Council meeting in Brussels. At it, European interior ministers will discuss the security situation following the latest events in the Middle East, BTA reports.

We do not see movement towards Europe or countries neighboring Iran, the EU Commissioner added. He noted that the situation is changing daily. According to him, there must be preparedness on migration and security issues due to possible consequences for Europe.

Brunner reported that the introduction of the system for fully automated crossing of the EU's external borders is going very well. He reported that in the first months of implementing the changes, 30 million registrations of foreigners have already been made and 17 thousand entry refusals have been issued due to false documents.
