Air defense system activated over Dubai airport. Dozens of planes unable to land

An air defense system has been activated in the sky over Dubai airport, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported, citing eyewitnesses.

According to flightradar24 data, as of 8:00 a.m. Bulgarian time, dozens of planes were unable to land at Dubai airport to transport some of the tourists stranded in the emirate and were moving in a circle at a sufficiently large distance from the sky over Dubai.

Among them are at least 10 of Emirates' largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A 380, coming from New York, Zurich, London, Birmingham, Moscow and Frankfurt. There are also many planes of the FlyDubai airline, mainly from European cities such as Zagreb, Belgrade, Warsaw and Istanbul.
