United Arab Emirates Head of State Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said his country was at war but in good shape, telling its enemies that the UAE was not easy prey, Reuters reported.
The agency notes that these are his first public comments since Iran launched missiles at its Gulf neighbor amid strikes by the United States and Israel.
“The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh - we are not easy prey“, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, in a statement broadcast on emirate television today. He made the comments yesterday while visiting those injured in the Iranian strikes.
“We will fulfill our duty to our country, our people and our citizens, who are also part of our family,“ said Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The United Arab Emirates, consisting of seven emirates including Dubai, will protect everyone in our country, the UAE head of state said.
