For the first time since the beginning of hostilities between Iran, on the one hand, and Israel and the US – On the other hand, Saudi Arabia reported deaths believed to be linked to an Iranian attack, DPA reported.

Two people were killed in a missile strike on a residential building in the Al-Kharj province southeast of Riyadh, a spokesman for the Saudi Civil Defense said.

According to the information, the victims were citizens of India and Bangladesh.

Another 12 Bangladeshi citizens were injured in the attack.

The spokesman described the attacks on civilian infrastructure as a clear violation of international humanitarian law, but did not specify the source of the missile strike.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense reported that two drones targeting the Shaiba oil field had been intercepted.

Meanwhile, the US State Department announced that it had ordered the personnel of the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia, who are not affiliated with the main work of the diplomatic mission, as well as the families of the embassy staff, to leave the country, Reuters reported.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has assured his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev that Tehran is not responsible for the entry of drones into Azerbaijan last Thursday.

He added that the incident would be investigated, Reuters reported, citing Aliyev's office.

“Noting that the incident involving an air strike on Nakhichevan had no connection to Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that the case would be investigated“, the statement said.

According to Azerbaijani authorities, four Iranian drones crossed the border and wounded four people in the Nakhichevan exclave on Thursday. The same day, Baku expressed irritation that Tehran did not take responsibility for the incident.
