The Hungarian government will impose fuel price caps to protect consumers and businesses from the surge in fuel prices, and will release oil from the state reserve to ensure supply. This was announced today by Prime Minister Viktor Orban in a video message distributed on "Facebook" and quoted by world agencies.
According to Orban, the price of gasoline will be capped at 595 forints (1.75 d.) per liter, and diesel - at 615 forints (1.81 d.) per liter.
The price caps come into effect tomorrow and will benefit cars with Hungarian registration.
