Emmanuel Macron opposes Trump: There is already enormous damage, but the capabilities of the Iranian army are by no mean

The French president added that there is no confirmation from either partner services or French services of the use of sea mines by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that this would be a difficult decision on the part of Tehran

French President Emmanuel Macron warned today that Iran's military capabilities "have not been reduced to zero" from the American and Israeli strikes and invited Donald Trump to "clarify both its ultimate objectives and the pace at which it wants to carry out the operations", reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.

"There has already been significant damage to Iran's military ballistic capabilities, but Tehran continues to attack several countries in the region and therefore its capabilities have not been reduced to zero", said the French head of state after a meeting of G-7 leaders.

Macron added that there was "confirmation neither from partner services nor from French services" of the use of naval mines by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that this would be "a difficult decision" by Tehran.

US President Donald Trump said yesterday that Iran was threatened with "unprecedented military consequences" in the event of mines being laid in the Strait of Hormuz, which is de facto under Iranian control. Shortly afterwards, the US military announced that it had destroyed 16 Iranian minelayers near the strait.
