Steve Witkoff welcomes Kirill Dmitriev in Florida, agrees to stay in touch

A Russian delegation led by President Vladimir Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev met with a US delegation in Florida on Wednesday, US special envoy Steve Witkoff said, adding that the teams discussed a "variety of topics", Reuters reported.

On the social network "Ex", Witkoff wrote that the parties had agreed to "maintain contact".

Kirill Dmitriev thanked in "Ex" to Steve Witkoff, son-in-law of US President Jared Kushner, and White House senior adviser Josh Gruenbaum for the productive meeting in Florida, TASS reported.

"Thank you Steve, Jared and Josh for the productive meeting", he wrote.

Dmitriev plays an important role in the negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.

According to media reports, in recent months Dmitriev has built good relations with Witkoff.

The United States is perceived as a mediator in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

Several meetings have recently been held in the Middle East, which is currently shaken by the war in Iran, and one in Switzerland, DPA recalls.
