The FBI has warned authorities in California that Iran may launch drones on the West Coast in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
"We recently received information that in early February 2026, Iran intended to carry out a surprise attack with unmanned aerial vehicles from an unknown vessel off the coast of the United States, specifically against unspecified targets in California“, reports ABC News, citing alarming information received by them, Focus writes.
The warning comes after the Trump administration launched its attack on the Islamic Republic.
Iran has responded with drone strikes against targets across the region, including attacks on two ships in the Strait of Hormuz, as the pressure on the vital oil shipping route is intensifying.
The conflict in Iran has widened, approaching two weeks since the first Israeli and U.S. strikes.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday that it is up to President Donald Trump whether this is the beginning, middle or end of the conflict.
