White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt has asked ABC News to remove a report claiming that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had warned California police of the danger of Iranian drone strikes.
“This report and post should be removed from ABC News immediately“, she wrote on the social media platform X.
According to a White House spokesperson, they present false information intended to intimidate American citizens. She noted that the material was based on unverified information.
Levitt also stressed that such a threat from Iran to the United States “does not exist and never has“.
On March 11, the FBI declined to comment on media reports that it had issued a warning to California police departments about possible Iranian drone strikes.
ABC reported that the agency had distributed a bulletin discussing a possible Iranian drone strike on the West Coast of the United States.
