Police in the Netherlands have launched an investigation into an arson attack at a synagogue in Rotterdam, reports "Reuters". This is another case of alleged anti-Semitic violence related to the escalation of the conflict between the US and Israel against Iran, News.bg reports.

No one was injured in the fire, which has already been extinguished, and no arrests have been made.

"The fire in the synagogue occurred at around 3:40 a.m.", Rotterdam police said via the social network X. "The fire was short-lived and was quickly extinguished", the law enforcement authorities added, calling on witnesses to provide any evidence.

Earlier this week, another synagogue in Belgium, about 200 km away, was hit by an explosion that authorities are describing as an anti-Semitic attack. There were no injuries there either, but there was material damage.

In Michigan, USA, a Lebanese-American man drove his truck into a synagogue and its preschool and was shot. These incidents have heightened concerns about potential attacks on Jewish communities around the world, especially after US and Israeli air strikes on Iran and the subsequent reactions from Tehran.
