The radar systems of the Romanian Ministry of National Defense detected air targets north of Tulcea County on the border with Ukraine at around 10:00 today and the air defense systems were put on alert.
Two F-16 aircraft took off from Air Base 86 in Borcea to monitor the airspace, the Agerpres agency reported, quoted by BTA.
“At 10:05 a.m., a warning was sent to the population in the target area through the RO-ALERT system,“ the press service of the Ministry of National Defense announced.
Based on the data available so far, it is possible that the remains of the drone fell on Romanian territory in the area of Cilia Veche, the ministry announced. Specialized teams are ready to intervene on site to begin a search.
