At least 2,000 people have died in the Middle East since the United States and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, and shortly after the conflict involved the Persian Gulf states, where there are American military bases and soldiers, as well as Lebanon. In its review of current figures, Reuters notes that it cannot independently confirm them, BTA writes.

IRAN - At least 1,270 people have died, according to the latest figures for the number of victims reported by state media on Monday. However, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations said on March 6 that at least 1,332 people have died since the start of the war. There is no explanation for the difference so far. It is unclear whether these figures include the 104 people the Iranian military said were killed in a US attack on an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka on March 4.

LEBANON - At least 687 people have been killed in the Israeli strikes, according to Lebanese authorities. The World Health Organization said at least 98 of the dead were children.

IRAQ - Iraqi health authorities reported at least 30 deaths. Most of them were members of the Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces. According to port security officials, one foreign national was killed in an attack on tankers near an Iraqi port. He was a crew member on one of the tankers.

ISRAEL - Israel's emergency medical services said 12 people were killed, including nine in an Iranian missile strike on the city of Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, on March 1. The Israeli military said two of its soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon.

USA - Thirteen service members were killed, with six confirmed dead today after a US military tanker plane crashed in western Iraq. Seven others died while taking part in operations against Iran, the US military said.

UAE - Six people have been killed in Iranian attacks, the United Arab Emirates' defence ministry said.

KUWAIT - Authorities said six people were killed - two people killed in Iranian attacks, two Interior Ministry officials and two soldiers.

SYRIA - Four were killed after an Iranian missile hit a building in the southern Syrian city of Sweida on February 28. The data was released by the state news agency SANA.

OMAN - Two killed in drone strike on industrial area in Sohar province - the first case on the territory of the country, which is hosting the mediation talks between the US and Iran. One person died earlier after a shell hit a tanker off the coast of Muscat, the operator said.

SAUDI ARABIA - Two people were killed after a shell hit a residential area in the city of Al Kharj, southeast of the capital Riyadh.

BAHRAIN - Two people were killed in two separate Iranian attacks, the second of which hit a residential building in the capital Manama, the interior ministry said.

FRANCE - One French soldier was killed and six were wounded in a drone attack in northern Iraq where they were conducting counter-terrorism training.
