US Vice President J.D. Vance claims that the US administration does not fully understand why the girls' school in Minab was attacked.

“I don't think we fully understand what happened there“, the deputy chief of staff of Washington told reporters during a visit to North Carolina, commenting on the tragedy in Minab.

“We have to complete the investigation. Right? Before we do anything, we have to really understand what happened“, said Vance.

He assured that US President Donald Trump wants the circumstances surrounding the tragedy in Minab to be “fully investigated“. “So that's what we're doing“, the vice president added.

Vance is skeptical of the US operation in Iran and initially opposed it, Politico reported, citing sources.

According to them, the vice president made it clear on the eve of the operation that he was against the strikes, despite publicly supporting the policy of US President Donald Trump. According to Politico sources, Vance is “skeptical“, “concerned about the likelihood of success“ and “just against it“.

“His role is to present the president and the administration with all perspectives, to show the situation from different angles. That's what he does. But when the decision is final, he agrees,“, a source told the publication.

Trump is seeking to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and restore trade relations with Russia, Vance said.

„There is a lot of debate about what exactly our foreign policy should be towards Russia and Ukraine. The president has been clear on this issue. He wants the bloodshed to stop. He wants us to get back to trade,“, Vance stressed.

„I think it's the right idea,“, the vice president stressed, referring to the stated position of the American leader.
