For all its complexity and global implications, the war with Iran boils down to one question: who can last the longest, writes the Times of Israel.

Rising oil prices are exposing Iran's main weapon and the United States' most vulnerable point in this campaign - the blow to the global economy.

The sharp rise in gasoline prices has already hit consumer wallets and shaken financial markets, while international travel and air transport are under serious threat.

On the other hand, Iran is forced to endure virtually continuous US-Israeli air strikes against which it has no defense.

So far, the Islamic Republic has managed to maintain the rule and unity of its leadership and army.

Iranian society, which in January was still seething with anger, is now huddled at home, trying to survive the brutal bombings.

Law enforcement agencies patrol the streets daily to prevent further anti-government protests.
