Iran made a strategic mistake by attacking Arab countries, Arab League Deputy Secretary-General Hossam Zaki told Sky News Arabia.

The Iranian attacks, he said, violate international law. Tehran's actions are “reprehensible“, Zaki added.

“We worked to mobilize international support to condemn the Iranian attacks. The Arab leadership has shown great wisdom in countering Iranian aggression“, he stressed.

In early March, Arab League member states called on Tehran to immediately cease its attacks on the Gulf and “show prudence“. They stressed that Arab countries are not parties to the conflict over Iran and have opposed the war from the very beginning.

Since the start of the operation against it on February 28, Iran has been attacking US military bases in the Middle East and Israel. Civilian infrastructure has also been damaged, and several Middle Eastern countries have reported casualties. Iran has also attacked tankers trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali noted that the Iranian Foreign Ministry is in contact with the Persian Gulf countries and is discussing with them the strikes that Tehran is carrying out in response to the US-Israeli operation. "We explain that the only reason for these strikes on their territory is the presence of American military bases," he stressed.

Meanwhile, Ali Fadavi, a senior commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said the country has missiles that can be launched from submarines and hinted that Tehran could use them in the coming days.
