This morning, a series of explosions echoed in the center of Kiev, Agence France-Presse journalists on the spot noted, and the authorities reported an unusual Russian attack with drones in broad daylight against the Ukrainian capital, BTA reported.
"Drone debris fell in the very center of the city", without causing any casualties, said Mayor Vitali Klitschko, adding: "The enemy attack on Kiev continues, stay in shelters".
The Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram several waves of combat drones and at least one missile.
According to Telegram channels close to the Ukrainian army, air defenses shot down two cruise missiles that attacked the capital.
The airstrike was declared in Kiev at around 08:30 local time (and Bulgarian time) and lasted for nearly an hour.
This is an unusual attack in broad daylight against Kiev, which is usually attacked by air from Russia at night, AFP notes.
