Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Iranian Intelligence and Security Minister Esmail Khatib was "eliminated" in an air strike overnight, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
There has been no confirmation from Iran so far.
Katz said that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have authorized the armed forces to kill any senior Iranian official who is declared a target, without further approval.
The Israeli minister warned of "significant surprises expected today on all fronts", without specifying details, the Associated Press notes.
