Russia will strengthen the security of high-ranking military officials after a series of assassinations and attempted assassinations that it blames on Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the FSB security service, Alexander Bortnikov, quoted by Reuters.

In the latest attack, Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, deputy head of the GRU military intelligence, was shot three times outside his Moscow residence on February 6. Ukraine denied involvement.

Bortnikov indicated that Alekseev is recovering. He assured that security measures for such high-ranking officials would be strengthened.
