Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson believes that the US mission with regard to Iran is practically complete.

„I believe that the original mission is practically complete. Our goal was to destroy the ballistic missiles and their production facilities and to neutralize the naval forces. "Those goals have been achieved," he told The Associated Press.

According to the congressman, the conflict is "somewhat protracted" because Tehran has the ability to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

"Once we stabilize the situation a little bit, I think the job is basically done," Johnson said.

The Israeli military said it had again detected missile fire from Iran and had begun intercepting it.

"The Israel Defense Forces have detected missiles fired from Iran towards Israeli territory. "Defense systems are working to intercept threats," the statement said.

According to Al-Hadath, Iran has fired nearly 4,900 missiles and drones at Arab Gulf states and 850 missiles and drones at Israel since the escalation began on February 28.
