Key infrastructure and energy facilities in the Middle East could be “irreversibly destroyed“ if Iranian power plants are attacked, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf wrote in a post on the Ex platform, BTA reported.

His comments come after US President Donald Trump earlier warned that the US “will strike and destroy Iran's power plants“ if the Strait of Hormuz is not “fully open” within 48 hours, Reuters reported.

Qalibaf said that infrastructure in the Middle East region would become a “legitimate target“ if Iranian facilities were hit and that the Islamic Republic's retaliatory measures would lead to a temporary increase in oil prices.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that Israel would "attack individually" the leaders of the Islamic Republic and especially the soldiers of the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported Agence France-Presse, BTA reported.

"We will pursue the regime, as well as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, this gang of criminals", Netanyahu said during a visit to a site hit by an Iranian missile in the city of Arad.

"And we will attack individually the leaders of the regime, its facilities and economic assets", the Israeli prime minister stressed to journalists, standing among the rubble of the site directly hit by an Iranian missile strike.

Meanwhile, Israeli emergency services said that the Iranian attack with cluster munitions on Tel Aviv injured 15 people.

A 53-year-old man is seriously injured, the Magen David Adom rescue service said. the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross.
