North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been re-elected as chairman of the State Council, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

“The Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, at its first session, which is the first activity of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly to implement state policy, re-elected comrade Kim Jong-un as chairman of the State Council of the DPRK“, the statement said.

Kim Jong-un was proclaimed supreme leader of the DPRK, leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army in 2011 after the death of his father Kim Jong-il.

In 2019, the Supreme People's Assembly, at its first session after the parliamentary elections, re-elected Kim Jong-un as chairman of the State Council.
