Two people have died in an explosion in an apartment building in Sevastopol, and four more people were injured, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said.
“At this point, unfortunately, two people have been found. Four people are injured and are receiving medical care in the hospital“, he wrote on his channel on the Max platform.
The governor added that people were evacuated from two buildings, and a temporary shelter was set up in a school near the scene of the incident.
On Tuesday evening, Razvozhaev said that an explosion had occurred in an apartment building in Sevastopol and the cause of the emergency was being investigated. Later, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned of a fire.
Footage from the scene of the fire was also published.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 198 people were on site, and 55 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The cause of the explosion has not been specified at this stage. An air raid alert was declared in the city during the night, which was later canceled.
