Russian strikes kill two in Izmail on the Danube, two Russians killed in airstrike near Belgorod

Russian strikes have killed two people in and around the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, and a strike in the Danube city of Izmail damaged port facilities and energy infrastructure, Reuters reported, citing Ukrainian officials.

The prosecutor's office in Kharkiv region wrote in a statement on Telegram early this morning that a woman wounded in an attack on the city of Kharkiv had died of her wounds in hospital. The statement said nine people were injured in strikes on two areas of the city, which is often targeted by Russian attacks because it is just 30 kilometers from the border. The prosecutor's office also said a Russian drone had killed a man in his car in a border area.

Local authorities in the Danube port of Izmail in southwestern Ukraine said the city had come under attack and that damage had been caused to the port and energy facilities.

On the Russian side of the border, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said Ukrainian drones had killed an 18-year-old man on a motorcycle in a village near the border and a woman in a car in the town of Graivoron.

Belgorod Region is frequently shelled by Ukrainian forces, Reuters notes. Four people were killed in a Ukrainian shelling of a public building in the city of Belgorod last week.

In Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that 17 Ukrainian drones heading towards the capital were intercepted and destroyed last night.
