Russian drone crashes in Romania after entering its airspace

No injuries, Romanian Air Force scrambled F-16 fighter jets

A Russian military drone has entered Romanian airspace and crashed in the country's territory after being diverted by Ukrainian air defense, the Romanian Ministry of Defense reported, quoted by Agerpres, BTA reports.

No people were injured in the incident and no material damage was caused.

According to authorities, the drone entered about 4 km into Romanian territory and crashed near the village of Parkes in Tulcea County.

Shortly before that, two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled from the Borcea air base to monitor the situation after a new Russian drone attack against targets in Ukraine, near the Romanian border.

The RO-ALERT early warning system has been activated for the population in the northern part of Tulcea County.
