Iran officially responded last night to the 15-point proposal to end the war made by the United States, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported, citing an Iranian representative.

According to the representative, Iran made it clear in its response that it demands an end to all military actions - including in Lebanon and Iraq. In addition, the US and Israel must stop targeted killings. Tehran is also demanding guarantees to prevent a new war.

Tehran has described the US proposal to end the war, conveyed through Pakistan, as "unilateral and unfair", a senior Iranian official said, quoted by Reuters.

He noted that a solution could still be found if "pragmatism" prevailed in Washington. According to him, senior Iranian officials had discussed the US proposal in detail last night. An envoy of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei also participated in the discussions.

"In short, the proposal implies that Iran gives up its self-defense capabilities in exchange for a vague plan to ease sanctions," the official said, adding that the document did not meet the minimum conditions for an acceptable agreement. He stressed that "at the moment there is no agreement to start negotiations and at this stage no plan for dialogue seems realistic".

Meanwhile, Turkey and Pakistan are trying to mediate between Tehran and Washington with the aim of finding common ground and reducing differences between the two countries.
