Czech police announced that they have launched an investigation into an attack with "Molotov" cocktails on the Russian House in Prague - a cultural and scientific center, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
According to information from the authorities, the attack took place on Thursday evening, when an unknown person threw several incendiary devices at the building. The perpetrator has not been identified at the moment.
The director of the Russian House, Igor Girenko, confirmed to TASS that the attack took place at night. He noted that some of the devices thrown did not go off.
According to him, three out of a total of six "Molotov" cocktails did not explode, although they fell inside the building. Girenko expressed gratitude to the Czech police and firefighters for their quick response.
The Russian side strongly condemned the incident. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described it as a “barbaric act“.
The deputy director of the “Rossotrudnichestvo“ agency, Pavel Shevtsov, told RIA Novosti that it was a deliberately planned attack and qualified it as a terrorist act.
