US President Donald Trump believes that the United States and Iran can quickly reach an agreement that would end hostilities.

“A deal can be reached relatively quickly“, he said in an interview with The Financial Times. Trump stressed that indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran through Pakistani “emissaries“ are going well“.

He is convinced that the authorities in Tehran will comply with all US demands or “they will not have a country“.

“They will give up their nuclear weapons. They will give us the nuclear material. They will do anything we ask. But if they don't, they won't have a country," he told reporters on board his plane en route from West Palm Beach, Florida, to Washington.

He called the materials stored at the Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan sites "nuclear dust." Those sites of Iran's nuclear program were bombed by the United States in 2025.

The Iranian authorities will provide the United States with 20 oil tankers, Trump also said.

“Today they gave us another gift. They gave us 20 oil tankers, the transportation of which will begin tomorrow,“ he said.

The United States has struck 13,000 targets in Iran, while Washington still has approximately 3,000 targets to strike in the Islamic Republic, the American leader also said.

He did not rule out the possibility that the US military would try to seize Kharg Island in Iran.

“Maybe we will seize Kharg Island. Maybe not. We have many options. That would also mean we would have to stay there for a while,“ the American leader said, referring to a possible military landing on Kharg.

“I don't think they have any defenses. We could take it very easily,“ the head of the Washington administration said.
