Some of Ukraine's allies have sent "signals" Kiev to reduce its long-range strikes on the Russian oil sector, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
In a conversation with reporters on WhatsApp, he added that Ukraine was ready to act reciprocally if Russia stopped attacking the Ukrainian energy system, and that Kiev was open to a ceasefire in the eastern regions.
Zelensky also drew attention to the agreements in the Middle East, which he described as historic, Ukrinform reported.
Regarding the agreements on 10-year defense cooperation with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Zelensky pointed out that Ukraine has never had such agreements in this region before.
"I believe that these are historic agreements. We agreed on strategic cooperation in the field of military technology and other areas. We are talking about ten-year agreements," Zelensky noted. He noted that this includes mutual cooperation. Ukraine is particularly interested in protection against ballistic threats.
"We are also facing challenges related to energy, diesel, etc. Therefore, in my opinion, all our agreements that will be legally formalized are very important for our country. Ukraine has never had such agreements in this region before," the president noted.
He reported that Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, is currently in the Middle East, where he will participate in a series of meetings.
On March 27, the President of Ukraine began a tour of the Middle East, during which he visited Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan.
