The Greek government is preparing a ban on access to social networks for children under 15, BNT reported. The measure comes amid growing concern among parents about the influence of the digital world on adolescents.
According to surveys, nearly 80% of Greeks support such a ban. Data from the Safer Internet Center shows a sharp increase in reports of online bullying, with a large proportion of children on social networks being of primary school age.
Parents say that it is increasingly difficult to control the time their children spend online, which often leads to conflicts in the family. Experts warn that the problem is not limited to access alone, but also requires education in the safe use of technology.
Psychologists note that a complete ban can lead to isolation of children, as digital space is already an integral part of their daily lives. Therefore, they believe that a balanced approach is needed: between restrictions and education.
