Iran has shot down two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters involved in the search for an F-15E fighter jet, NBC News reported.
According to the channel, the US Air Force A-10 attack aircraft shot down by Iranian air defenses managed to reach Kuwait before crashing.
The channel specified that the attack aircraft was sent to support the search and rescue operation after Iranian air defenses intercepted the F-15E fighter jet. After sustaining damage, NBC News reported, the A-10 entered Kuwaiti airspace, where the pilot ejected and the plane crashed. The pilot is safe.
The channel also reported that Iran hit two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters involved in the search and rescue operation, with the service members on board suffering minor injuries.
