The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted a salvo of missiles fired from Iran towards the Jewish state, the IDF press service reported.
“The IDF intercepted missiles fired from Iran towards Israel. Defense systems are working to intercept the threats,“ the statement said.
Several explosions occurred in the mountainous Kolakchal area north of Tehran, according to Al-Hadath TV.
No details were provided yet. Iran has not commented on the channel's report.
Iranian air defense systems tracked and destroyed two enemy cruise missiles and two drones in Iranian airspace, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said.
“Two cruise missiles were shot down over the cities of Zanjan in the northeast of the country and Khomeini in the central part of the Islamic Republic,“ the IRGC said in a statement. In addition, the Corps added, “an MQ-9 [Reaper] drone was shot down over Isfahan, and another Hermes drone was shot down over the city of Bushehr in southern Iran“.

Syrian aviation authorities have extended a ban on flights in the country's airspace.
A source at the Flight Information Directorate (DIR) in Damascus said the country's airspace is closed until 9:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, April 5. The only exceptions may be flights that receive prior approval from authorities“, the source said.
He recalled that Syria had previously allowed passenger flights to Aleppo airport, with three flight corridors being designated: two to the Turkish border and one to the Mediterranean Sea to the border with the area controlled by Nicosia air traffic controllers.
