A special platform for submitting applications for fuel assistance will be opened in Greece today, the Greek TV channel "Sky" reported.

The basic amount of assistance for individuals in Greece is 50 euros per month. Car owners living on the islands can receive ten euros more.

The amount of the subsidy for motorcycle owners is different - 30 euros on the mainland and 35 euros on the islands.

The assistance can reach 120 euros per household if the family lives on one of the islands, has two cars and they are registered in the names of both of them. A condition for receiving assistance for individuals is a certain family income - up to 25 thousand euros for unmarried couples and up to 35 thousand euros for married couples.

75 percent of drivers meet these criteria, the ANA-MPA agency reports.

According to official data, the average fuel consumption in the country is about 70 euros per month. With the allocation of 50 euros, a liter of gasoline will be subsidized by the state by 36 cents, the agency adds.
