The death toll from Israel's attack on Lebanon has risen to at least 254, with more than a thousand injured, Al Jazeera reported, citing the country's civil defense.

“At least 254 people were killed and another 1,165 were injured in Wednesday's attacks,“ the statement said.

Health Minister Rakan Nasredin said Lebanon was facing a “dangerous escalation“ after Israel launched “more than 100 air strikes” against the country.

Nasered added that ambulances were still transporting the wounded to hospitals and called on international organizations to provide assistance.

On April 8, President Trump announced that strikes on Iran would be suspended for two weeks in exchange for the full and immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Israel supported the United States, but the government noted that the ceasefire would not include Lebanon.

On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces announced the end of the largest attack on Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon since the start of the military operation.

The United States also said that Lebanon was not part of the ceasefire agreement and described claims to the contrary as a "misunderstanding".
