Pezeshkian expressed condolences to the family of the advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian expressed condolences to the family of the deceased advisor to the country's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, head of the Strategic Council for International Relations of the Islamic Republic, Kamal Kharrazi.

Earlier, Iranian state television reported that Kharrazi died from injuries sustained during one of the recent bombings in Tehran. "I express my condolences to the people of Iran, the country's diplomatic community, the family and relatives of Kamal Kharrazi, who, after receiving injuries as a result of a terrorist and brutal attack by American and Zionist (meaning the state of Israel - TASS) enemies against his home," the president said in a statement on the Telegram channel.

Pezeshkian noted that Kharrazi had defended Iran's national interests in the international arena for many years, including as Foreign Minister and the country's permanent representative to the UN.
