Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in control of the situation in the country and has personally decided on a ceasefire in the war with the United States and Israel. This was stated by Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, the representative of the Supreme Leader in India, to TASS.

“He is in good health, everything is under his control. He comes to his office, receives officials, the president, the official representative of the parliament, and holds meetings. The decision to cease fire was made by him“, Elahi emphasized.

On April 7, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week mutual ceasefire with Iran. He said that the two countries had resolved almost all disputed issues, and Washington considers Tehran's 10-point proposals as a “working basis“ for further negotiations. The US prime minister said the decision was based on Iran's willingness to open the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran, in turn, agreed to stop "defensive attacks" if the Islamic Republic was not attacked. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the mediator between the two countries, invited them to talks on April 10. According to Iranian state television, the talks are expected to be direct.
